The Client
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was the director of partnership for Sift. We’re a machine
learning-based fraud technology. In addition to payment-related
types of fraud, we also cover content-related scams, and
account takeovers.
The Challenge
What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?
I’m managing some of the e-commerce platforms, including
Shopify. We hired them to build an integration for us.

The Approach
What was the scope of their involvement?
MOBIKASA is a development agency and systems integrator.
Shopify referred us to MOBIKASA to build our integration so that
our software was already integrated into Shopify.
What is the team composition?
I specifically worked with 4–5 people— the CEO, CTO, chief web
officer, and one person who spearheaded operations.
How did you come to work with MOBIKASA?
I had connections at Shopify who recommended them and one
other team. They were the most reasonable in cost. We had a
great feeling about them and they were in our budget.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2020 and we have an
ongoing partnership.
The Outcome
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the
impact of the engagement?
The project was successful. The build is now complete and we’re
about to start a maintenance contract. Next, we’ll share it with
Shopify to be approved and certified so it can be included on their
integration marketplace. We’re very happy because the
application as built in a way that it meets their requirements and
can be certified.
How did MOBIKASA perform from a project
management standpoint?
We had the benefit of working with the CTO and he was a
superstar. We were very blessed with the support we were
getting. We had weekly calls, but if we needed anything, we could
contact them via email, Slack, or whatever else.
There were things that were delayed either on our end or theirs,
but it was just a matter of what we encountered. If anything was
delayed, it was communicated.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their responsiveness and availability have been great. They’ve
been super easy to work with from both a commercial, legal, and
technical perspective. They were very flexible, open, and
transparent.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No; I only have good things to say about them. They gave us the
red carpet treatment.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
MOBIKASA, like any vendor, can only be as good as the
requirements that are captured in the scope of work. We know
what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it. So any future
clients should know what they want and make sure the
requirements fully capture that.
