MOBIKASA created a website for the National Collegiate Rugby Championship tournament. The website also had to feature a brackets challenge game, which allows fans to predict the winning teams of the tournament.

National Collegiate Rugby is the largest governing body of college rugby in the U.S. with over 600 teams. I was the project manager for the College Rugby Championship website and associate Brackets Challenge game.

The Challenge

For what projects/services did your company hire MOBIKASA, and what were your goals?

To develop the College Rugby Championship website and associate Brackets Challenge game. The Brackets Challenge is a unique gaming experience allowing fans to predict the winners across 6 mens/womens brackets. The dynamic scoring process provided real-time player scoring and rankings.

The Approach

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Mobikasa provided a very strong proposal and development plan. While the challenge was unique, Mobikasa demonstrated their experience developing complex software for complex requirements.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Due to the COVID uncertainty with the championship tournament, the development time as quite short. However, Mobikasa developed an accelerate workplan that allowed sufficient time for design, development and testing.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were approximately four people that we were aware of, but I suspect others supported the project as well.

The Outcome

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was delivered on time and on budget, and met the expected outcomes of the tournament and gaming experience. There were over 400 participants who registered on the site.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We were very happy with the project managers process and structure. The testing process was managed on Trello, which was a very easy tool to use.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

MOBIKASA's customer service was impressive. They were as flexible as possible in meeting unexpected requirements and always made themselves available to quickly address issues.

No material issues.
